SPECTATOR CHALLENGES - ROUND ONE - FAIRY TALE/MYTH

Traditional Challenge
Pick an Archetype. Flip a coin. If heads, the Archetype is in its ideal form. If tails, the Archetype is in its shadow form. Write an entry as if it was a normal round, with that Archetype as your opponent OC.  If you need help coming up with what an Ideal/Shadow Archetype would be like, RobinRone will be hosting a chat for brainstorming Archetype manifestations next week.

Storytelling Challenge Prompts
(1) Significant Numbers
3, 7, and 12 are often significant numbers in fairy tales and myths. Create a story where your OC must confront something in sets of 3, 7, or 12.

(2) Reinventing History
Think of a historic event from your OC's world and re-design it as though it was a myth passed down from one generation to another.

(3) A Twist on Old Favorites
Think of a favorite fairy tale or myth and re-design it with your OC as a principal character. Try to pick a story that might parallel something your OC struggles with, and consider how experiencing the Myth/Fairy Tale might change their perspective or teach them something important.

(4) A Study in Opposites
Identify which common fairy tale structure (Western or Eastern) is most familiar to you. Create a story for your OC using the OPPOSITE structure.

These are just suggestions, but if you have your own idea on what you'd like to create, go for it!  SE entries are featured just like matches on the main page.  If you'd like yours to be featured, send a link to your work to RobinRone!
We're working on tie-breakers right now, but in the meantime, here are the prompts for Spectator Entries (SEs) for Round One.

Remember that SEs will be featured on the main journal with the matches for each round! If you'd like your work featured, contact *RobinRone with a link to your SE!
